How England Became a World-Class Wine Producer

English wine is having a moment — but there is far more to the story than sparkling wine. Join us at Burnt House Vineyard for a series of relaxed, hosted evenings exploring the grapes, regions, producers and ideas shaping the English wine industry.

Time & Location

29 Oct 2026, 19:30 – 21:00

Burnt House Vineyard, Burnt House Vineyard, Bildeston Rd, Little Finborough, Stowmarket IP14 2LA, UK

About the event

England hasn’t always been taken seriously as a wine country. Not that long ago, the idea of producing world-class wine here would have raised a few eyebrows. Fast-forward a few decades and things look rather different.

For our first English Wine Evening, we’re going back to the beginning — from the early days of English wine and the impact of a changing climate through to modern viticulture and the producers putting England firmly on the wine map.

We’ll taste five wines from across England, including our own Burnt House Bacchus, alongside wines from other English producers. Expect aromatic whites, elegant still wines and some very good fizz.

Expect five wines and a relaxed atmosphere alongside nibbles.

£35 per person | Five wines | Nibbles included | Approx. 90 minutes

Want to make a night of it? Book dinner in our Vineyard Kitchen before the tasting and join us afterwards for…
